DERMAL FILLERS IN DENTISTRY?
Dermal Fillers in Dentistry?
Dermal filler is used to enhance the aesthetics of your smile by adding fullness or even defining the shape of your lips. Fillers can also be used to treat those dark triangles between teeth by plumping up the gums between them.
What is a dermal filler made of?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is the main substance found naturally within your extracellular matrix (outside the cells). Within our skin HA increases flexibility, elasticity, and moisture. It absorbs water from surrounding tissue, causing lips to become fuller. It is completely reversible and considered non-allergenic.
How long does this treatment last?
Depending on the type of filler, generally this treatment lasts for about one year.
